TEHRAN- The "Dowlat of Quran" collection, featuring unseen calligraphy works by Iranian master calligrapher Yadollah Kaboli, was recently unveiled at the Niavaran Cultural Center in northern Tehran.

The collection, which highlights the artistry of Quranic calligraphy, comprises 15 pieces of equal dimensions and size that were penned during the holy month of Ramadan in 1997, and is one of the most unique collections in the field of Quranic works, Mehr reported on Sunday.

Kaboli is a member of the Supreme Council of the Iranian Calligraphers Association and has made significant contributions in the field of calligraphy.

The unveiling coincides with the ongoing "Narration of Rain" exhibition, a specialized showcase of Quranic arts at the Niavaran Cultural Center.

Featuring 170 artistic works centered on Quranic verses by renowned artists such as Gholamhossein Amirkhani, Ali Ashraf Sanduq-Abadi, and Ahmad Shafiiha, the exhibit offers a diverse range of creative expressions.

The exhibition will be held until May 19 welcoming enthusiasts of calligraphy and Quranic verses.

Quranic calligraphy holds profound spiritual significance as it involves the intricate and skilled rendition of verses from the Quran, the holy book of Islam. This unique form of calligraphy requires not only technical precision but also a deep understanding of the sacred text, with each stroke and curve carefully crafted to convey the beauty and essence of the divine words. Quranic calligraphy is not merely a visual art but a form of devotion and reverence, with calligraphers often spending years honing their skills to master the intricate script and create works that inspire awe and contemplation.

The art of Quranic calligraphy has been passed down through generations, with each calligrapher infusing their own style and interpretation into their work. From elaborate compositions adorning mosque walls to delicate manuscripts housed in museums and collections, Quranic calligraphy showcases the harmonious blend of artistry and spirituality. The intricate patterns and fluid movements of the Arabic script serve to enhance the meaning and significance of the verses, inviting viewers to reflect on the profound teachings of the Quran and appreciate the beauty of the written word.
